My Artistic Journey

My art style takes a surrealistic approach on botanical and anatomical components being combined. Throughout the years, I've developed more personal pieces connected to my childhood. I first started to dive into my art when I was a freshman in high school, falling first in love with 2D mediums and then origami. Over the years, I have made it my effort to merge the both of them with featuring my cranes and origami in my 2D works.

Why Do I Create Art?

My desire to create comes from both the craving to formulate works that are greater than the sum of my knowable parts, as well as to be able to have a path of escapism for myself with the use of surrealistic concepts. The use of surrealistic details in my works comes from the comfort that is provided with the concept that whatever I create, cannot come to life. My use of natural and botanical elements in my pieces comes from the idea that I believe we can create life from within us. Each person has something greater from within that is more than the sum of their knowable parts. To me, art is an outlet of creativity with different struggles I encounter as well as a coping mechanism for stressors in my daily life. Watercolor is my primary medium because I believe it provides a gentler effect to the viewer about the different challenges that I faced.

Works of mine!

"Patient or Customer?" 2026

My humanities assignment focusing on healthcare, specifically in the US and how people are given medications and tests and then sent out with medical bills. It's as if hospitals wheel patients from the building to the bank because of how expensive treatments are and how much tests and medications add up. Raising the question of "are people considered to be patients or customers?"
